Yippee! Marilyn makes me laugh so much in this film, and Jane - what a script!

'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' is in my all-time top five movies and novels. So many great lines - Anita Loos was a comic genius, no question! The book's been a favourite holiday read for years (very tatty and drenched in suntan oil/G&T now - must buy another). I never tire of it.

And now I must show off, for I'm insanely proud to say I met the late, great Jane Russell not once but twice, as a TV guest booker. And she was every bit as magnificent as you'd hope. She made Dorothy Shaw look shy and retiring!

Jane's chilli recipe sounds great. Who knew canned tomato soup would feature, but it actually makes sense. Jane would not sell you a duff recipe! Her husband of 24 years, American football hero Bob Waterfield, said she didn't cook too often for fear of "scorching an asset" (great phrase!). Her chilli's like the lady herself - no fuss and delicious! I think you've created the perfect 'Dinner & a Movie' combo here Jenny!

I'll sign out with some Anita Loos magic, a Dorothy Shaw, Lorelei Lee tiara quote:

Lorelei: How do you put it around your neck?

Dorothy: You don't lovey - it goes on your head.

Lorelei: You must think I was born yesterday!

Dorothy: Well sometimes there's just no other possible explanation.

Have a sparkly day! XXX
