What fun! My choice is not there to vote on, but it would be Columbo's Veal Scallopini. First, because he cooked it on the show, and explained how to cook it during the scene, and second, he cooked it while in the very midst of catching the murderer. That episode of Columbo resonates with me mostly because when I last saw it was in the hospital and fasting. So many different dishes were featured in that one episode! I got so inspired that I bought a fancy boning knife online, which of course, I have never used. So silly, but I was famished! It was the second episode of the 7th season - Murder Under Glass. This is also the time i found your blog as I was looking for the recipe online, and have that book in my collection now.
Ah yes, Julie! I can see how if you were fasting, watching that episode would have made you insanely hungry. I watched that cooking scene many times so I could see exactly how Columbo prepared his veal! The recipe is in Cooking With Columbo AND Cooking The Detectives - it’s so good, I had to feature it twice. Maybe now is the time to get that fancy boning knife out and put your chef’s hat on! Jxxx
