Are you fed up with always getting the fuzzy end of the lollipop in life?
Do you like dressing up?
Have you ever made a cocktail in a hot water bottle?
Well, if not, 2024 could be your year!
If you have never seen Some Like it Hot before, you are in for a big treat. If you have already seen it, why not introduce some friends or family members to the splendour?
Will you look at that! Look how she moves! It's like Jell-O on springs. Must have some sort of built-in motor or something. I tell you, it's a whole different sex!
Watch Party Checklist
1 - Get your diary/calendar out and make a date with yourself.
2 - Decide if you will watch the movie solo or with others.
3 - If the latter, here’s an invite you can email to your chosen ones, letting them know the time and date of your screening.
It’s totally your call what a “watch party” actually is. Just watching the film with some salty snacks is totally acceptable. But if you want to go the whole hog for this film, you could create a jazz-age prohibition speakeasy affair and ask your chums to dress accordingly.
I admit, my preference is always a watch party for one! But also, if you owe someone dinner, this could be an excuse to get them over…
4 - Source the film on DVD or via a streaming service so you’ll have it to hand when the appointed time comes. Some streaming services offer watch party features, so you can even share the experience with friends or family who are miles away, discussing the good bits in a chat box. You could do this via a WhatsApp group or something similar too. The possibilities are endless!
5 - If you plan to cook Tony’s goulash, pop everything you’ll need on a shopping list. It's easy to cook in advance, and it freezes well, too.

Did we discuss SCROOGE? I thought it was faithful to the book almost to the point of slavishness. It didn’t feel like it had much of its own life, but there are worse faults it could have.
SOME LIKE IT HOT is one I’ve come back to repeatedly over the years, for lots of reasons. May try the goulash.
Love!!❤️
