Vincent Price Cucumber Crocodile Parade
If you make only one movie star edible thing in your life, make it this one...
A little anouncement before we get amongst the crocodiles. I will be “in conversation” with Vincent Price expert Peter Fuller towards the end of November. We’ll be chatting about the Cooking Price-Wise book and TV show (released on Blu-Ray by the BFI on 25th November)
about how we came up with the idea for our Supper with the Stars book
and many other things Vincent Price related. . We’ll each be rustling up a Vincent Price cockail and I’ll share the video recording with you all before the end of the month.
If you have any questions for either of us, pop them in the comments or email me.
I hope that you are gathering the wherewithal for the Vincent Price Chessboard Cheeseboard Competition.
If you are intrigued, skip back to this post to get all the details. Closing date for photos is December 8th. There are prizes to be won!
I thought that to inspire you to enter, I would share some
CROCS I HAVE KNOWN
Entries for a Cucumber Crocodile Competition I hosted in 2021
Cult film-maker Jan Manthey scooped the first prize - JAN, I still have your Vincent Price finger puppet prize, let’s meet up for a ceremonial handover!
Here are Jan’s crocs…
Gas of the brilliant Abertoir International Horror Festival in Aberystwyth, Wales scooped the second prize
Brian Theis of The Infinite Feast took his croc out and about in New Orleans…
Writer chum VT Dorchester had her croc emerging from a swamp
Another writer chum Rachel Blackmore had fun making this with her friend Emma - making these with friends or kids highly recommended! I love the carrot teeth!
My old uni pal Matthew made this fully loaded croc for his neice’s birthday party.
By way of contrast, Annette went for the minimalist approach - she went with Vincent’s suggestion of slivered almonds for teeth…
Beloved bread friend Ma Baker made a slightly squiffy looking croc - WITH FEET! I might pinch that idea…
I must also include this pic one of the test cooks for the Supper with the Stars book, Lyndsay made for herself during a Covid-19 lockdown. Blueberries, radish slices and mozzarella balls!
I hope this parade of creativity encourages you to have a go too!
CROCS I HAVE MADE
At the book launch party for Supper with the Stars: With Your Host Vincent Price, I made one live on stage - that was FUN - thanks to Sue Fell for the pix.
Feast on Film in Crouch End
Fun Halloween event at the much missed Moors Bar.

Barts Pathology Museum Event with Victoria Price
I have no idea why Mr Rathbone has a Scottish accent in this video, but I encourage you to name your crocodiles! Here I introduce Vincent, Boris and… Simon.
Here they are in all their splendour, before Olivier ate all their eyes…
Snacky-Drinky Party with Time Travel Kitchen
My most recent Cucumber Crocodile was made for a late night online party in my pyjamas… Hosted by the brilliant Jolene Handy of Time Travel Kitchen, it was 5pm in Chicago but 11pm here in Hastings so I took my croc .up to bed for a midnight feast with a Vincent Price New Fashioned.
Video demo of how Vincent made this delicious beverage coming soon!
